In addition, a kind person will have empathy, or the ability to put oneself in someone else’s shoes to understand how they feel. One might say that a kind person is not a “mean” person.

When people are kind, they are being polite because these behaviors help someone else. These behaviors also have the goal of evoking good will towards themselves. Kind persons want to be liked by everyone around them. They may do anything that someone asks for just because they want to be liked.

They also do not like causing discomfort or pain to others, and they try to avoid doing things that will bring harm or ill will onto other people. Finally, they are aware of the consequences of their actions on others and take these into consideration when deciding what to do.
